Salcombe is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful harbour towns in the world….in our humble opinion!
It is situated in the southerly tip of Devon and seems blessed with a seemingly warmer climate than a lot of the south coast. It is ideally suited for waterbabies, walkers and sun worshippers alike and the fabulous golden sandy beaches and coves will certainly not disappoint.
The Salcombe harbour attracts sailors of all abilities and allows a safe haven for anybody wishing to take advantage of the regular sailing courses held in the estuary. In addition to learning to sail there are regular surfing lessons to be had in nearby Bigbury.
There are many wonderful walks around the area, both coastal and country, and we have provided a selection of books which you can use to plan a route (with or without a pub detor)
